Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

We were meeting our friends at 6:30 am, but my sister and I are always late as usual. It was 6:50 am when Susan and I arrived, we forgot our annual parking pass so we decided to wait for the market to open to purchase our day permit. It was our first peak as a group so I told the group to meet us at Sturtevant Falls, we hiked down to the falls as fast as we could to meet up with our friends. They waited nearly 45 minutes for us to take this beautiful group of girls only picture attached (Photo Credits to Kyle).

We didn’t think too much about the weather until we got to the Falls and realized how nice and cool it was. The trail was a nice road to begin with and then, it started to go up gradually, but with the falls on our right and the beautiful lush greenery from all the previous rainstorms, this hike was beautiful. We finally reached Spruce Grove campground. Michelle and I enjoyed the swing and explored the cabins there. We thought we might come back to backpack for fun.

After Spruce Grove was when we met Toni, who was hiking alone. We started talking and convinced her to Summit Mount Wilson with us. She had other plans that day. Her company helped some of us get through the steepest parts of this trail while we were getting to know her. Toni, Susan (my sister) and Michelle took a break for lunch while the rest of us pushed through. I kept pushing through to meet up with Camille, and when we finally reached the summit, we missed Kyle and Amanda who was waiting on the right, but Camille and I cut left expecting everyone to meet up for food at the top.

We ordered hot dogs and had a hot lunch and even an ice cold coke. We decided to loop back to our cars and went down a fire road that eventually met up with the correct trail. Oops!! On our hike back, we saw signs leading to inspiration point, the hike we did the previous weekend. Now we know those trails linked up for another possible adventure in the future. haha. The hike back to our car seem so endless as I’ve always had knee problems, but at least we got to pass by some llamas and made it down before nightfall. This was quite a long hike, so I thought…..
