We started on the forest road at the entrance to Chantry Flat and decided to check out Sturtevant Fall for a quick dip. The water was freezing !!! we backed track to continue with our summit via Gabrielino Trail-Upper Trail. Then reached Falling Sign Jct to Spruce Group Campground where we came across some donkeys!! We continue thru Sturtevant Trail. After that came about 2 miles of steep switchbacks and before you know it the views start opening …. we reached Mt Wilson peak!!! We descended via Winter Creek Trail to Chantry Flat. Beware there’s lots of mosquitos…if it wasn’t for a friendly old man that offered to sprayed us with repellent who knows how many bites we would it had at the end. The views were amazing and the best part was that most of hike was shaded.
