Group Sunrise to Sunset Hikers
Trailhead San Bernardino Peak Trail

Started the day very excited to not only finish the challenge but also to revisit this beautiful trail that I last hiked in November 2016.
Weather forcast was near 100 in Mentone and after hearing reports of high temps and heat exhaustion from fellow Hikers on Saturday I was a little uneasy about temps.
Fortunately an early (6am) start, cloud cover and higher elevation made for very pleasant conditions up to the peak. We knew there was slight chance of precipitation so was not surprised when light drops started to fall about half mile from the peak, quick px and lunch break then a loud crack of thunder so we wrapped it up and headed back down the mountain.
Glad to have my rain poncho as we had some light rain first 1-2 miles hiking back down then it started to clear and warmed up a bit here and there but overall a really pleasant day.
Another peak bagger finished the 6 pack with me today along with another friend who finished her 4th peak.
