I had the honor and privilege of finally meeting Ex-Marine and amputee, 30 year old USMC Staff Sergeant Charlie Linville, the first combat wounded veteran who climbed Mount Everest, 29,029′ .
When I met Charlie, he had nothing but this big smile on his face and was there all day meeting the 1,000 plus hikers that showed up for the Heroes Project. Very moving and touching to hike among our heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms!!! Proud to be an American! Looking forward to next year!
