Early morning – 5AM at Barton Flat. Nice hot breakfast and met the others at the trailhead just before 7. The climb up was steady, though we all hate that first mile up to the Vivian Creek Camp, but whatever… it’s just another hill. Good conversation all day long, made the day go quickly. We named an unnamed saddle (the point just below 10,000′) Psych Point, because from that point on, for the uninitiated, the mountain continues to make you think you can see the peak but “psych”, nope, that was a false-peak. Lots of people and critters at the top. Quick lunch and back down the hill. We made it back to the parking lot by 5:15 or so.
