Peak San Bernardino
Group N/A
Trailhead Angelus Oak

This hike was brutal! The switchbacks had me panting and catching my breath many times. What really got to me was the plethora of chiquapin bushes that were just EVERYWHERE in the hike! It was scary hiking knowing that there bees left and right in the bushes. As we were getting closer and closer to the peak, the weather got really bipolar because of the clouds. At one point it would be really sunny and due to the San Bernardino county weather the Sun burned my forehead, and out of nowhere it’ll be really shady and breezy. It was a test of endurance and it helped me learned to adapt to the change of weather from Limber Pines to Washington Monument and up. Going down was just as tough and SCARY because of the bees, but for some reason it felt a lot easier going down than the previous 3 peaks I’ve done. I would be down to go camping at the campgrounds next time. It was a scary hike for me because I ran out of water when I was 3 miles away from the trailhead. Next peak I’ll be prepared.
