Peak San Bernardino
Group N/A
Trailhead Angelus Oaks

San Bernardino was my favorite hike of the six peak challenge. We ended up starting a little later than what we were planning because we did not realize that we needed a permit until it was too late. So we woke up and lined up the rangers station in Mills Creek at 7 am to get one of the walk-in permits, and we got it! We mingled and met some cool people who were also going on the hike in line. The actual hike was very lovely, I didn’t feel like there were any majorly steep parts. I really liked how it gradually climbed. I remember there being a lot of narrow pathways that were sandwiched with bushes with yellow flowers with tons and tons of bees. There were also a lot of bushes with thorns on the path. We found the little creek more than half way up that my friend used her water filter to refill her water bottle. I also remember thinking that this hike was awesome because there were barely any people on it. When we got to the peak there was less than 10 people up there, and everyone had good vibes. I do remember being a little disappointed by the view at the very top, because there were trees surrounding everything at the top. The best view was the ridge a bit further down from the actual peak. We got some epic photos in there before we headed back down the mountain. I really loved San Bernardino Peak.
