Peak Mt Wilson
Group Aqui Nomas Hiking
Trailhead Chantry Falls

I expected an easy hike this time around since it was my second time hiking Mt. Wilson but first time for the challenge; let’s just say, it was a bit challenging. Our group and I started at 7:15 am. We were off to a great start as the beginning is somewhat flat, with a little bit of incline and the weather was cool. There were a lot of mosquitoes because of the recent rainstorms and the streams were full of water, so we applied a lot of mosquito repellant. Our group got separated at the switchbacks as everyone had their own pace. It got a bit difficult to continue at my normal pace as the switchbacks became challenging and the weather was getting warmer. Nearing the summit, there were a couple of spots for photo ops. The views were great, with just a bit of haziness, but hey, it’s LA. The last mile was the toughest since I was able to see part of an antenna tower and thought the summit was close by. I met up with my group at the Cosmic Cafe around 10:30 am. The weather suddenly got cold as we were eating/resting. The hike back down was easier since your goal is to finish and go home. My group did the loop back to Chantry Falls and pushed through the last incline back to the parking lot. I felt less prepared and more tired, compared to my first Mt. Wilson hike but overall it was a nice hike.
