Peak Mt Baldy
Group Ranger Renegades Climb for Heroes
Trailhead Fireroad at ski lift lot

We had a bit of a late start but it was a beautiful day. There were quite a lot of people supporting the Heroes Climb which is awesome. We hiked up a snowy slope to avoid the line of climbers at one point and we made it! One of the positive benefits of hiking is my mind is off of everything except the hike so any anxiety or stress that I had during the week is behind me and I feel like I get a fresh start once I’ve completed a summit hike. There was a lot of encouragement as there always is for anyone summiting their first peak and I so enjoy seeing all the experienced hikers encouraging new hikers. All of the heroes on the mountain were so patient and encouraging. I enjoy meeting them every year.

  1. Hi Jeff – I’ll be on Mt. Shasta June 30 – July 2 with Six Pack Challenger Isa Galan. This is my 4th Big City climb. My first first was Mt. Hood in 2014, then Buck Mountain in 2015. Last year I created my own fundraiser with a Palisades Trek that was incredibly difficult for me but it was so restorative to be out there for 5 days of backpacking surrounded by all the boulders and lakes. It was total solitude and peace. Best part is I raised $3500 for Big City Mountaineers last year! This year I created my own fundraiser again with the Mt. Shasta Climb.
