Peak Mt Wilson
Group L.A Trail Hikers
Trailhead Upper Winter Creek

The weather was perfect going up the trail from Upper Winter Creek. A little cold in the beginning but about half way into the trail, it started to get hot. The trail did offer a lot of shaded areas, but there were some that were very exposed. The beginning was pretty moderate for me, but then the elevation made me feel like someone was pinching my lungs shut. It was very hard for me to catch my breath, and had to take little steps in order to keep going. I was afraid that if I would stop for too long I would give up. After the half way mark, it seemed like an eternity to get there due to me trying to concentrate on not passing out. Luckily the group that I was with was very encouraging, and patient. Some of these hikers had done this mountain more than once! On the last mile I went really slow, it liked you can see them at the top of that hill where it ended but it still felt like you had 20 more miles to go. Anyway, I made it. Luckily I was wearing sunglasses and sweating profusely or you would’ve seen the tears of joy streaming down my face. I did it! Bring it on Cucamonga!
