Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

We were so excited to take on our first peak! The weather was almost as amazing as the scenery! A little overcast and the trail was shaded most of the way. We stopped at Sturnavent Falls first (so beautiful), then up to tackle the peak. This was the first time my friend Denise and I had ever used poles and WOW, we didn’t realize what we were missing out on! The waterfalls were flowing heavy and the campgrounds were a fun place to take a break. The last 3 miles seemed like 30! Tough climb for sure. Then… we came to summit and out of nowhere appeared a fellow hiker standing right at the top of the trail and said, “Welcome to Mount Wilson”! He has no idea what a joy it was to see him and that we talked about how cool that was on our way down the mountain. The first thing we did was go into the restroom and change into our Six Pack of Peak t-shirts that we crossed out and checked off Mount Wilson with red rhinestones. The Cosmic Cafe is closed until April 1st., but we enjoyed the hot chocolate/coffee!! Got down much faster than we got up- haha! Honestly, the last 3 miles of the ascent made the paved road back up to the parking lot so much easier!

Can’t wait until the snow is gone so we can cross out and check off Cucamonga
