It was a sunny, beautiful morning when we started up the road towards the trails head. There was about 200 people standing around and checking in at a table. When we asked what was going on, we were informed that this was the Sam Kim memorial hike and it would be taking place at the summit. Now, I had read about the tragic passing of Sam Kim. About how he embodied the adventurer spirit and the incredible number of times that he has summoned this great Mountain. I was proud and fortunate to be there that day and share my respect for such a man.
