Exquisite! It was challenging and rewarding with great company. We took our time and just soaked in the beauty of the day – clear, comfortable, with a gentle breeze. Found a couple of interesting caves along the trail, tested our skills over some sections of washed out trail, took some interesting pics of the stone cabins, were in awe of billions (yes, I said billions) of ladybugs, enjoyed the rhythm of rushing water, watched a California Mountain King Snake in his habitat, talked for awhile with other hikers (day and thru), got some wonderful beta on other places to hike (always a plus!). There is something especially serene about this peak. I felt like I never wanted to leave. I would definitely like to include this area on a thru hike in the near future. This is my favorite mountain hike of the 6 pack so far.
