Trailhead Chantry Flats

The first time I did this hike it was via Sierra Madre and it was hailing at the summit. This time we came via Chantry Flats and made sure to check for good weather first. The trail was beautiful and pretty easy until the last 3 miles to the top. We stopped by the cabins before these last few miles and got a chance to practice some archery while we were there. I haven’t done a long hike in awhile so I took it real slow. The idea of free hot chocolate and coffee at the cafe kept us going. I took a short nap at the top before heading back down, and it was the most earned nap I’ve had in the longest time. Overall a great start to the six pack and a strong reminder to do more squats and lunges in the coming weeks.
