On Saturday I did the first hike of the Six Pack of Peaks challenge: Mt Wilson. I started early, and got to the trail parking lot by 6:30am, but it was already full, so I had to park down the road a bit.
The weather was cool and cloudy: perfect. It was a lovely hike. I went by the waterfall first, then continued up. There were a few points where the trail split with no signage, but I always managed to figure out which direction was the correct one and never took the wrong path or got lost; I was quite proud of that, because my navigation and trail-finding skills used to be gawd-awful.
At the top of the mountain, the clouds obscured most of the view, but I enjoy the feeling of being high in the sky and it meant that at certain points, I was walking up through mist, so that was alright. It was an exhausting hike, but well worth it!
