Peak San Jacinto
Group Solo
Trailhead Humber Park

I’ve hiked up Devil’s Slide before, but this was my first time taking the PCT section up to Wellman’s Divide and on to the summit of Mount San Jacinto.

This was a solo hike, my fourth peak in this year’s Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge, and the first of three peaks I planned to bag in three consecutive days.

This trail is beautiful! The views of Suicide Rock and Taquitz Rock were phenomenal, and a blanket of clouds filled the skies below. At the summit, I met a fellow challenger who came up from the Marion Mountain trailhead.

I highly recommend this route. It was a total of about 15 miles, but very picturesque. And there was water available at Wellman’s Cienega!
