What a joy to be part of Team SoCal Hiker and meet other hikers before beginning our hike. The morning was filled with excitement, cheer, camaraderie, and patriotism. The climb became more meaningful with each stop. Meeting our courageous hero veterans, hugging them, and thanking them for their sacrifice for our freedom was a true honor. The event was well organized. Because of this event, many are aware of The Heroes Project which helps fund mountain adventures for our injured vets as they adjust to their new normal but not limited by their physical challenge. The quotes posted along the trail helped me realize the added challenges our heroes experience on their own climbing expeditions. What an honor to share that mountain with our heroes. It was a truly electric day full of inspiration, perseverance, and determination. Thank you heroes! Thank you The Heroes Project! and big thanks Team SoCal Hiker!
