Dynamic Duo Tackle Mt Wilson

Myself and my partner in crime, Marci D aka Batgril, arrived at Chantry Flats around 7am to an empty parking lot after an uneventful drive from San Diego. Sturtevant Falls had a nice flow and gave us some great photo opportunities while we did our best to avoid the mosquitoes and flies. After nourishing the stomach and soul at the top , we began our descent and were surprised and amazed to see a beautiful momma black bear and her cub halfway between Mt Harvard and Hoegee’s Camp. The bear family jamboree required we backtrack 15 min and wait an addition 10 more before trying to continue the descent, lucky for us the family had moved along and allowed us to continue the descent. A very successful first peak for the dynamic duo of Batgirl and Superman! Look for more heroic efforts from this peak procuring partnership.
