Peak Cucamonga Peak
Group DOING IT FOR GREG
Trailhead Ice House Canyon

On the trail at 6:38am in shorts (61 degrees) Trail start out along a stream for a while then starts up. For me this was mostly a steady gradual uphill not very steep with just enough flat areas to let your body catch up. There are some mile markers along the way and we were in the shade for most of the way up. Lots of mosquito’s to keep you moving on this one. Made the peak in about 4 hours to the top. Better views then from Badly I think. Got group photo in the DOING IT FOR GREG shirts and holding an elevation sign. Nice lunch break after putting on the bug replant. Going down was warm but after bagging this peak and the views in this direction made for a nice change.
Rolled my foot with about 2 miles to go. But have done it so many times I just wait a minute and re-tie my boot and I am good to go. With about 1 ½ left I finished my 3 liters of water but still had pint of Gatorade left so no problem. Just under a mile left, I found the lady bugs. Thousands of them in different places and got some great photos. Then back to where we started.
Final Stats – 11:45mi, 7:13hours and 4,264 feet of elevation change
