After charging up all the lithium cells for my Zebra lights and packing some dehydrated train food and my Jetboil Flash, we hit the trail with 8.5 liters of water (and the Miniworks EX pump). We left the truck at 5:19 am with flashilights. We didn’t turn them off until we hit the wilderness entry sign. Ran across a few deer and a friendly chipmunk at the peak. After a short nap, we started back down at 2:12 pm. I have to admit, I was a bit scared of a lot of hiking in the dark, but we made it back to the truck at 7:45 without flashlights, just as the light was failing us.
