Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

On Saturday, I got up at an ungodly hour, met with my friend Carman, and we drove out. We arrived at the trail head around 7am. Plenty of people were already on the path and there were a few stretches where we were stuck behind a larger, slower group, which was somewhat annoying.

Fortunately, the weather was great; temperatures were slightly cool and the sky was sunny. I was a bit tired, and it took a good hour before my legs finally warmed up. We reached the top in good time and hung out to absorb the view, while other people around us were partying, playing music and dancing.

On our way down the trail, a man stopped us and asked if we had noticed the Bighorn Sheep. We looked to our left, and there it was, standing majestically atop a rock. During the last stretch of trail, ladybugs surrounded us, flying everywhere and swarming over rocks and fallen trees near the creek to our left.
