Where should I hike/camp - SoCal Hiker

Hello – I am taking my wife out on a camping trip in May. I am looking for something that is moderate in difficulty for a weekend trip, and probably not above 8,000 feet due to snow conditions, and that is somewhat remote with places to explore. Sites with a stream or mountain views are a plus. Interested in Angeles or San Bernardino National Forest areas.
