I plan on hiking Cucamonga Peak this weekend, Saturday, June 25th. Can anyone who lives in the So. Cal area inform me if the fire would prevent me from doing so. I’m not sure if the news mentioned the San Gabriel mountains?

My main concerns would be heat and air quality. You’ll probably be high enough that air quality won’t be so much a problem, but I can’t guarantee that. Take plenty of water and use common sense.

As Ed Viesturs says, getting to the top is optional. Getting back down is not.
