Gorgonio Permit

Has anyone tried to get a permit the day of for Gorgonio? I see they’re all booked up on the weekends the next few months so it seems to be the only option…?

You can snag day-of permits, but the ranger station has to be open (they are closed Monday and Tuesday). Also, they don’t open until 8am (I think) so it means a later start. And there’s typically a line up on weekends that begins an hour (or more) before they open.

That being said, there are openings for alternative trailheads. Now that they’ve reopened some of the other trails, there are new options available.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I will look into those other trailheads. A late start doesn’t sound ideal for this trail…
