Peak San Bernardino
Group N/A
Trailhead Angeles Oaks

This hike measured out to be 17.7 miles out and back according to my gps and one other persons gps in our group. We started the hike at 4:45am and made the summit before 12p with a couple stops for a snack and pictures. Be sure to bring bug repellent as one of the people in our group was stung by a bee.
Btw, if you are afraid of bees, this hike is NOT for you. You walk through blooming manzanita throughout most of this trail.
The weather was perfect with a little bit of rain at the summit and on the way down. It did get quite warm on the way back as the afternoon wore on. We made it back to the parking lot just before 5pm.
This isn’t a difficult hike, it’s just a long hike.

  1. I’ve hiked through the flowering manzanita and chaparral both on San B and a super narrow trail just full of them in Crystal Cove. I found if you just do your best to ignore them and not stop they are too busy collecting pollen and they left me alone. Glad they did the same with you; it can be freaky if you are afraid of bees, but I was so happy to see the flowering bushes after the years of drought!
