Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

Had a great start seeing the gushing Sturtevant Falls which had previously been been flowing only slightly more than a leaky faucet in the summer. Positively suffered the last couple of miles with all the elevation gain but made it to the top! Enjoyed the hot chocolate, made a sad face because the cafe was closed since a huge greasy burger would have been perfect at that moment but made do with healthy blah granola bars and an apple. And then for the downhill which was supposed to be the easy part… except for that knee pain and locking up that started with over 2 miles left to go. Sucked it up and limped the rest of the way back, still managing to jump over the stream multiple times without falling cause I’m a boss. Just kidding…. I was so lucky the pain was gone the next day. Lesson learned, I have better shoes now, will always carry an ace wrap and ibuprofen, and will zigzag on the downhill to decrease the stress on my knee joint. And also to prevent crocodiles from chasing me. Or is it alligators? Still had a great time though and can’t wait to master the next peak!
