    Hi,
I keep reading “don’t forget to bring your adventure pass” to hike at Mt Wilson. I don’t have one…do I have to get that ahead of time? I’m planning to go at 6:30 am this Saturday – can I just buy some sort of parking pass when I arrive?
    Thanks!

It’s probably best to get this ahead of time. You can get these at Big 5 or REI. You can also find other locations here: http://www.fs.usda.gov and look up adventure pass info. The daily pass is $5. Hope this helps a little

Thanks! Just wondering why it’s “best” to get it ahead of time. I’m sort of tight on time to make a special trip to REI beforehand. If I show up without, is there no way to buy one upon arrival?

Just went to the Pack Station website and here is what I found:

The road to Chantry Flat is open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You can buy your Adventure Pass (often called the “parking pass”) at the Pack Station on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When the Pack Station is closed, you are welcome to park in the Pack Station lot and put $5.00 in the Pack Station’s Honor Box. The Honor Box money goes to buy feed for the donkeys and the goats. They greatly appreciate your donations.

Sounds like you’re good to go!
    Have a great hike!

Thanks so much! I was looking online but didn’t see the “pack station” site. Appreciate your help 🙂
