OUTSIDE IN Released by Opus Orange

OUTSIDE IN by OPUS ORANGE

Two weeks ago I talked to PB about the new ep from Opus Orange, the band behind the soundtrack for Mile…Mile & A Half. Yesterday, Outside In, was released.

Recorded entirely outside in the California wilderness above 10,000’ elevation using only solar power off the grid, they reinvented their songs using washtubs and old BBQ grates for percussion, a washtub bass with a broom handle, and a variety of instruments found around camp including banjo, ukulele, melodica, and kalimba. Birds sing, insects buzz, and the wind whistles throughout these six songs – nature as an improvising musician.

SoCalHiker has three copies of the new EP to give away.

  1. Being outside allows me to reconnect to a world and universe that so often can go unnoticed and under appreciated when sequestered within four walls and a roof. I am reminded that this life is more than what happens on the evening news and despite what we are told, this life and this place is rare and beautiful.
