What is #MuirTacoHut?

September 4, 2014 By Jeff Hester 6 Comments

Muir Hut Taco Stand

What is #MuirTacoHut? Is it a joke? Is it a hoax? Is it a rumor? All I will say for now is that @100peaks, PD and I will be out on the trail to Muir Pass this weekend.

What will happen on the trail? Share your guess in the comments below, then check back next week for a full report. And follow the #MuirTacoHut hashtag for clues (and maybe even updates).

Jeff are there any hiking apps that you would recommend? I’m trying to find one that can help locate local hiking trails.

Are you serving tacos from the Muir Hut? That would put some smiles on peoples faces for sure!

If only you could have been there with Tacos on Aug 3rd when it was pouring rain. Oh well.

Hi, I ended up on this site looking for a Chatsworth hike club meetup. My friend Cooky is an old mountain ranger, and said there would be a hike somewhere in Chatsworth but didn’t call back with the details, All I know is it’s today at 6pm, just wondering where so we could go there and hike along with the rest of the group. Anyone out there in cyberspace now who knows where this hike starts? What’s the address or cross streets??

Thanks in advance for any help with this, I’d really appreciate any help on this hike, Sept. 13, ’14.

Encountered “Senior Muir’s Taco Hut” last Friday, August 12th 2016 on the JMT at Purple Lake. While we didn’t have time to stop for a taco, the good folk insisted that I take a beer (which I did). We wanted to get up to Lake Virginia (hoping to go beyond too).

    Thanks for your hospitality!

How do you support the effort?
