Child’s Letter to the Yosemite Ranger

Evie is a Junior Ranger, who recently visited Yosemite and “accidentally” brought home a couple sticks. Apparently, the guilt gnawed at her until she couldn’t bear it, so she wrote this letter to the ranger–sticks attached–and asked that they be “returned to nature.”

Evie’s letter reads:

Dear Park Rangers,

I am a Yosemite Junior Ranger. I went to Yosemite recently and accidentally brought home two sticks. I know I’m not supposed to take things away from the park, so I am sending them back. Please put them in nature.

Thank you,

Evie

Awfully cute. Apparently someone has been paying attention to those leave no trace messages after all. We could learn a thing or two from Evie.

  1. Since you list dog walker on your “About” piece, could I suggest identifying which of those hikes are dog friendly, even off leash friendly? That is always good info to know and is one of my primary criteria for selecting a hike. Seems silly to leave my 2 dogs at home 🙂
