Mile…Mile and a Half Giveaway

October 1, 2013 By Jeff H Leave a Comment

I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out until sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.” – John Muir

Hike the John Muir Trail, and you’re likely to have at least a few days when the trail seems longer than expected. “How much further til camp?” “Oh, a mile… mile and a half.” It’s usually further. I first shared about The Muir Project back in 2011, and became a backer of the Kickstarter project that helped launch the movie. Like the JMT, the road to release has been a long journey, but now there’s good news!

MILE… MILE & A HALF is now available on DVD/BluRay, iTunes and other VOD platforms including streaming/downloading directly from their site:  www.mmaah.com.

And to celebrate, SoCal Hiker is giving away a signed copy of the special edition DVD of MILE… MILE & A HALF. You can win your very own signed copy of the special edition DVD. The contest begins on October 1, 2013 and runs until 11:59 PM Pacific on October 10, 2013.

WE HAVE A WINNER!
Congratulations to the winner of our MILE…MILE & A HALF giveaway: Jason Harris. We had a lot of people subscribe to the weekly SoCal Hiker Newsletter and post in our discussion forums. Jason’s entry was picked by Random.org, and a signed, Special Edition MMAAH DVD is on it’s way.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the contest, and especially for your ongoing participation on the SoCal Hiker community.

Here’s How You Can Win

It’s simple. There’s really only one requirement, although you can optionally earn up to 10 additional entries.

  1. Sign-up for the SoCal Hiker newsletter. This is a weekly newsletter that keeps you up-to-date on the latest trail guides, reviews and hiking news. If you’re already signed up, you have one entry. This is required for entry in the contest.
  2. Participate in the SoCal Hiker forums. Ask a question, answer a question, share a trail report or your gear review. Just make it meaningful. You’ll get one entry for each post, up to a maximum of 10. The email address you use in the forums must match the one you subscribed to the newsletter with.

On October 11th, we will tally all the entries and pick one lucky winner at random.

Don’t want to leave things to chance?  You can rent or buy MILE… MILE & A HALF now on iTunes.

I created SoCal Hiker while preparing to thru-hike the John Muir Trail. My goal? Create guides for the best hiking and backpacking trails with enough detail to make it an enjoyable experience for you. And while I started with trails in Southern California, I’ve expanded across the west. We hike each trail to create these guides, sharing practical advice on gear and outdoor skills. Read more…
