Overnight at Limber Pine

Peak San Bernardino
Group N/A
Trailhead Angeles Oaks

Decided to do San Bernardino as an overnight, hiking a short evening to Limber Pine Bench, camping there, and then summiting early the next morning. Minimal snow below Limber Pine, trail was in great condition. We had perfect weather, with a calm, clear night. LP is a great flat area to camp, with awesome vantage points for sunset. The next morning woke up at 5am and headed up the last 2 miles to the summit. Wore crampons the full way up and down between Limber Pine and the peak. Ice axes not needed, pretty easy going. The snow below Washington Monument made for a nice shortcut, we just shot straight down the slope back to camp, probably saved around 1/2 mile or so. Great time all around!
