This was my first hike as part of the challenge and I relied on the information on the SoCalHiker.net website along with information shared on the forum. Even with all the information, this was a tough hike. The last couple of miles were challenging but once I saw the white dome of the observatory there was no turning back or whining.
The weather was perfect and a hat tip Nika V. and Jeff H. for the last minute advice. The bug net was a good addition to the hike!
The hike itself was absolutely beautiful. Around every corner was fresh scenery that kept me motivated and excited about what may lie ahead. I met some really nice people along the way up and down and the pit stop at Cosmic Cafe was one of many highlights.
I started at 6AM and made it back down to my car around 4:30PM. Definitely a long day but well worth it.
Here’s a short video edit of my Mt. Wilson hike.
