Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

The trail was a bit confusing to follow but it was beautiful! It was lush with greenery, the waterfalls were full and the sound of the babbling brook along with way was so calming. It was beautiful at the bottom and we started the day with a gorgeous sunrise. It was very strenuous as we started to ascend, and some parts of the trail were sketchy, one wrong step and you would be doomed. We saw a woman on the trail that assured us we were not far from the infamous bench that signified that we were close to the peak but decided that we were not going to listen to anyone else on the trail about distance because she was clearly very wrong. But with the mantra of “yes we can” and “just keep swimming” we made it to the top and the view was unbelievable. The descend was much more difficult and the fog was so dense at the top it was hard to find the trail. We asked 4 people just to be sure and headed down the mt. Wilson Sierra Madre trail to Winter crest. We were in a lot of pain at this point but the forest was calming and gorgeous. Overall a great day but this hike is definitely closer to 16 miles than 13!
