Wild at Wilson!

Mount Wilson was the most unique I think of them all in that there wasn’t really a central summit point. The observatory and museum at the top were cool, but I have to say I wasn’t a huge fan of this summit. There was a small lookout area on the side that offered a pretty view (as seen in my photo), but it wasn’t miraculous, in my opinion. Nevertheless, the women I went with and I had a great time. We were warned there would be a lot of bugs, and I have to say we were swarmed for about a mile or so in the middle of our summit, but otherwise it was not as awful as I had thought. The weather was hot, but not overwhelming. I think my favorite part of the hike was stopping at Sturtevant Camp to enjoy an awesome tree swing and zipline. There were a couple adorable cabins that you can rent and very welcoming and kind volunteers who were offering coffee and breakfast to hikers as they went up. They asked us to join them and swap stories. It was pretty amazing. If you didn’t stop at the camp (maybe mid-way up or so), I’d definitely recommend doing that next time!
