Weather was cool and clammy as it was drizzling part of the journey. The trail was rough but easy to follow. Views were gorgeous as they are with every hike. 🙂
It was a little unnerving seeing other groups/families at the peak eating junk food and looking fresh because they DROVE up (*ugh).
… That dang hill you have to climb up to get back to the parking area and the end of the hike is ridiculous – you’re already exhausted but you still have to climb out!! That part sucked.
Wilson is not my favorite peak because the glory of the peak is overshadowed by the observatory, there are a lot of people that mess around and leave litter by the river near the start of the trail, and the climb out back to the parking lot is a booger.
Also beware, that the trail seemed a little longer than 14miles round trip.
