When your mom is 2,567 miles away, summit Cucamonga Peak on Mother’s Day!
Awesome weather and trail conditions nearly the entire hike from Icehouse Canyon to Cucamonga Peak!! We departed Icehouse Canyon at 7am and sweat like crazy to reach the saddle at about 8:30/8:40am. After a cup of hot apple cider (I loveee those packets) and a snack, we set out for the peak from the saddle at 9am. We reached Cucamonga Peak right around 10:15/10:30am. As previous posts mentioned, there was a small patch of snow/ice but we made it past using poles and caution. We took quick a lengthy stay on top of the peak as conditions were near perfect. After lunch and plenty of pictures later, we made our way back down and still had the majority of the day to feel accomplished.
