Beautiful spring day for a hike. In the beginning! Started my hike from Chantry flats and decided to use the “Upper winter creek” trail, as i have been told it’s a more scenic route. The trail did not disappoint. After hiking a pretty mundane trail for about 3 miles, i came into a nice wooded area which continued nearly to the top. To my surprise, it started raining. Not a downpour, but a heavy mist that soaked to the bone. 30% chance of showers, ha (thanks NBC)! After summiting and being quite cold do to being drenched and windy i decided to quickly make my decent using the same trail. It being a pretty much wooded trail i figured it might be better protected from the elements. Not! The way down was pretty muddy and slippery, but i made it without any falls, although i slipped and came close on many occasions. All in all, i was a good day and i enjoyed my first Mt. Wilson hike.
