Peak San Jacinto
Group I hiked with a group of my hiking friends, we call ourselves the Happy Hikers
Trailhead From the Tram

This is the second of the three saints and my fourth peak. San Jacinto is Saint Hyacinth, who is famous for lifting a stone Mary statue, despite the fact that the statute weighed more that he could normally lift. This is why he is the patron saint of weight lifters.

I have had a hard week personally, and this hike was the last thing on my mind. But, I had 7 people who had committed to the hike and we needed to get this done. So, we got to the tram around 7:30 am and the 8:00 am tickets were already gone and we finally made it up the tram at 8:20 am. The 8:00 am tickets online were already sold out weeks ago. When you leave the tram, you already feel lighter with the altitude being now at 8,516 ft and you feel it harder to breathe when you start going up. It was a beautiful day. We saw lots of deer in the meadow and it was a perfect 70 degrees hiking up to the peak. As we came down from the peak, it started to hail for about 5 minutes, but the water dried by the time we got back down to the tram. This is my second favorite peak because the hike up is gradual and the views are amazing. Overall, it was a great day to be outside and this hike lifted my emotional weight and worries. Thank you Saint Hyacinth for the lift.
