Trailhead MARION MOUNTAIN TRAIL

I thought the weather was going to be brutal being that it had been in the 100’s back in Los Angeles, especially Palm Springs. Surprisingly, it was in the 60-70’s the whole way to the top. There is a lot of inline in the beginning, and most of the way to the top. I was glad it was shaded, and I was with a fun group of people so it made the pain a little bit more bearable. The last two miles up were VERY painful for me. I swear I wanted to cry. I felt like the mountain was never ending, and the elevation was getting the best of my lungs. I am not going to lie, I almost gave up. Then I closed my eyes, and pictured my 3 year old niece’s face and I regained my strength. I need to be able to tell her I finished my goals, and this was one of them. Once I got to the last 0.3 mile of the hike, I was crawling to the top. I wanted to cry, scream, sleep, eat, and laugh all at once. I made it.
