This trail was beautiful and moderate until we reached Sturtevant Trail, then we took a nice relaxing break and headed up the mountain, it’s uphill for a while then the switchbacks begin, the last three miles were the hardest, definitely strenuous, but well worth it! We encountered lots of bugs, so bring your bug repellent! The weather was perfect, we took the Sierra Madre trail back down and it got a little warm about 80 degrees in the sun. But most of the trail is in the shade! My dogs were barking (feet sore) at the end, but the next day I feel great!!!
