Peak San Jacinto
Group N/A
Trailhead Marion trail

We left Irvine at 5:00 am and drove to Marion Mountain Campground. We were supposed to be there at 7:00 am and start the ascent but somehow into the parking a little bit later. We started at 7:30 am.
The ascent was steep from the beginning. We knew what to expect so we pursued at a decent pace. I was supposed to meet at 7:00 am with one of the challenger so each time I passed a woman I was asking her name. Finally at one point, we caught her up and we pursued our long ascent. Breaks obliged to altitude, we made to the hut and to the peak after scrambling. The peak was very crowded. The descent felt nice, I was warmed up and wanted to ran down. I took the “rabbit” lead and strolled down, happily, making sure everyone was following. This 13 miles felt longer, the descent somehow felt very long. Weather was alright as predicted, not so warm at the top but overall perfect for a hike in the mountain. Glad I packed my gloves… Nice climb, nice company!
