2nd hike this year to summit San Jacinto; made the 1st back in January on snow & ice.
Decided to take the Deer Springs Loop starting from California State Highway 243 next to the City of Idyllwild as a conditioning hike for San Gorgonio the following Monday 6/26.

What caught my attention during this long trek were the lush, green foliage and the interesting rocks along the trails.
It was likewise great to hear & see a good flow of water along the trails from snow melt.
Took a photo of Santiago Peak in Orange County from the Marion Mountain Trail [west portion of the loop].
The ‘featured image’ is a photo of Tahquitz Peak & Suicide Rock [east portion of the loop].
