Beautiful day, great hike. Actually met up with 2 ranger volunteers who were checking for permits. Things were going good until I left my cell phone (map) at the switch back at limber pine spring. We hiked on for 45 minutes before I realized what I had done. Having to hike back to get it cost us a lot of time and trail running. was not an option in trying to make the time up. We summited later than we wanted, took our pics along with some other “challenge” hikers and headed back. Trying to out run the remaining daylight was a chore. We made it back to the trail head with no light left. All in all a long day with some very beautiful views.
