Finally after months of scheduling and rescheduling this hike…this summit was concurred and of all weekends, we choose to hike during a SoCal heat wave. Lucky for us, there was plenty of cloud cover and actually made for perfect hiking weather. With just about a mile left to summit, the thunderstorms came with heavy rain and hail. Was only able to enjoy summit for a whole five mins (if that) before we had to make our way down fast before the storm really dumped on us. Enjoyed my lunch in the rain. That was a first for me.
This was such a beautiful hike! It was a bit longer than we had expected…It actually turned out to be 18 miles round trip.
