Peak Mt Baldy
Group N/A
Trailhead Mankers Flat

What a hard hike! We were excited to start this hike as it was the third hike of our six peak challenge. We felt prepared with the gear and the food/water. It was a beautiful day. There were many people on the trail – very crowded but everyone was nice to chat with. We started the loop on the south side and hiked our way up. The parts where you could tell was a skiing section during the winter months were absolutely strenuous. But we made it! After many stops during the hike up, we were reaching the last mile of the hike up. We felt good about our timing and our energy. Then the last section of the hike came. Every switchback we had to stop and catch our breath. There were patches of snow everywhere and some kids and youth playing in the snow. It was great to see that and hike with snow on the sides of the trail. At the top, it was very crowded with people, but there was a sense of accomplishment in the air. We hiked down and many returning hikers told us we should have gone the opposite way for the loop. We were relieved to be finished. What a beautiful hike.
