Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

I started at 5:20am to beat the heat. Icehouse canyon was not very cool, even in the wee hours of the morning but the canyon was gorgeous. I managed to startle myself when I came across a leaking waterline that I initially thought was a rattlesnake. The ascent was a little rough and I hit some gusty sections that were strong enough to push me around a bit. But man, the peak was worth it. I was the first one up that morning and had the entire peak to myself! The city was a bit smoggy (no surprise there) but I was still able to see Catalina and San Clemente.
