I woke up at 4am, drove away at 4:30am and arrived at the trail head at 8am! Google maps = wrong! Onstar =g! Thank you fellow outdoor enthusiast mountain biker at a remote gas station that told me exactly how to get to my trail head. Alone and determined I finally parked, found the trailhead and headed out at 8:24am. I absolutely LOVED the shaded trail! I was purring up the mountain and loving the water, green forest and DOING IT. Once I got past Sturtevant cabins it started getting hard. Steep incline and switch backs ascending higher in the elevation. I listened to everyone’s notes about the bugs and dressed with long pants, long sleeve shirt and bug repellent. This seemingly odd summer choice saved me from sun burn and bug bites. Nearing the top my stops became more frequent and some bad words were falling out of my mouth, but once I was able to sit down at the Cosmic Cafe table and slam a cold diet coke, I was planning my next adventure!
