Did San G twice in 10 days – what was I thinking? First time up was great – decent weather, forecasted rain did not eventuate, and even with a slightly injured friend, we still got up and down in good time. Second time up was fine on the ascent, but as we were coming off the peak, right as we hit the treeline, it started to rain and thunder. Not long after it even hailed, but thankfully we were prepared with ponchos. Nonetheless it was a little scary to hear thunder so loud and be pelted with hailstones for a solid 40 minutes. Rain eventually stopped and then it became a steamy walk down – bleurgh!
