This was a sneaky one! Even though the mountain was almost half the size of some of the others we’ve done, it was just as hard of a climb. The trail was great, very open, and only got a little puzzling on the way back from the summit. The weather was beautiful and warm, and we stayed cool under allll of the shade that was present on our way up. Without it, the hike would’ve been twice as tough, I’m sure. One good thing was that we didn’t need to worry about altitude here, and didn’t notice any change on our way up.
We did come across a rattler hanging out on the trail around 3pm. He gave us a look and just went on his way. All in all, it was just a really beautiful trail. Who knew all that was hiding up in the hills above LA?!
